Hello all!!

I deleted Avance Logic folder from my c: Later I realized it had the sound card drivers. Now I have no clue what my sound card is.. When I get info from control panel, it doesnt say anything about avance logic. The same thing happens if I download a driver. It says driver not compatible.

Now, How do I identify the sound(audio) card and load the appropriate driver?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Open case and look at card? What operating system (win9x/ME/NT/2k/xp)? Also - slightly confused - you obviously had (have?) drivers installed for card. Deleting the source drivers won't make any difference to any version of windows (ie, drivers installed - all OK). So have you a fuller story to tell or what?

I have an EPOX with Avance on-board sound. If you have a card, then I would look for any information on the card: make, model number, chipset information.

Maybe ALC### or ALS### on one of the chips, (# is a digit). If you can find that, I would goto - Drivers - Graphics and Sound Drivers Page, and match the chipset number with info on their driver list.

If it is on-board sound (no actual card) I would get the model number of your motherboard then goto the manufacturer's website and check for drivers there.
