What does it mean when "Stocked?" or "Controlled?" or "Inv Trx Audit" are greyed out in an existing (usually old) Item Master Maint box ?
I'm not saying all of them are greyed. Sometimes only one is greyed out. Sometimes two are.
I just want some input on why one or more of these check boxes might be greyed out.
My company wants me to use my SQL tools to directly change the imitmidx_sql table entry under column "stocked_fg" from 'Y' to 'N' for a record where "stocked?" is greyed out on the Item Master Maintenance dialog box for that item.
This request sets off several of my internal IT mental "alarms" !!
Programmers usually don't write code to "grey" out an input unless an input would CAUSE TROUBLE.
I certainly CAN make it happen ---------- but, do I WANT TO ?????
Any advice ??
