Hi all,

I currently own and user a HandSpring Visor Deluxe.

I really only use the PIM functions(Calendar, address book,
notes). I go through 2 AAA batteries every 3 days, yet use the unit less than an hour per, if that.

Prior to switching to a Palm type of device, I used a Sharp Wizard and before that, a Casio Boss. Both these unit were great, except for syncing data with my PC. The software options for the PC were pretty poor, at best. However, I never had to worry about losing my data. The batteries lasted for several months and there was a flash memory that held my data until I replaced the batteries.

I love technology, but with the job market being what it is, and my budget being limited, I can keep replacing batteries everytime I need to find a phone number.

What less expensive alternatives are there? I had looked at a Casio Pocket Viewer (only saw it on-line), but I suspect Casio, Sharp and other non-Palm or CE platforms, still suffer from a lack of support options at the desktop(PC).

Any advice?

Thanks very much!

No one has a recommendation? I bet you have a persoanl organizer that you really love, and that provides the features that allow you to be really efficient. What is it?
Thanks!!

I guess I was wrong. No one has a personal organizer they love or would recommend. The quest has ended! Thanks

Hi there

The Dell Axim is a good PDA for the money $199. Has all you will ever need as far as a PIM functions go.

Curious, I had a Hand Spring Visor as well. I could get as much as 3 weeks on a set of batteries. 1 1/2 if I used it all the time. Are you using alkaline batteries? For less that half more money alkaline lasts more than twice as long.

I was unsatisfied with the Hand Spring so I now have a Ipaq. It better fits my needs, but it eats battery.
