Hey guys (and gals)
ok I have 2 sources of data (dont knwo what they are yet)with tons of records that i need to use to display a report.

Can i just link(or import?) to these two seperate sources using access and then create a report with them? what would i need to know - just get access to those 2 databases? what terms should i use talking to them odbc?

Hi,

Just link each of them in your Access DB and query just like any other table.

I have DB2, Oracle and Excel tables linked in Access

How do I ask for it...for example...give me your dns to link what will i need to give them? thanks in advance

First, you need and ODBC Driver configured for that kind of database. Some drivers are included by Microsoft in...
[tt]
Start/Settings/Control Panel - Administrative Tools -- Data Sources (ODBC)
[/tt]
and Add a data source in either User or System data sources.

You will need to know the data source name from the data administrator and may also need secuirty access before conmpleting the Driver conmfiguration. Each database/driver has different parameters required.
