Hello,

If I understood correctly, there was a notification from the manufacturer about the end of life for the Option 11c.

Our office is relocating. The Option 11c that we are using was installed about 10 years ago and it is shared with other offices in the building that will not move.

I was wondering if you can give me an idea about good replacement systems for Option 11c.

Thank you.

Hi Neil,

Thank you for your answer.
I should also mention that we need a system that can handle about 150 phones. I am not the person who decides what they will buy. Another problem is that they changed their way of supporting the phone system. I was supporting the Option 11c locally and calling the vendors when it was something beyond my knowledge. I am just IT support now.
Because of they do not have local support anymore, I have the feeling that they are inclined to go with some Centrex system. I am not sure, I will have to see what the procurement guys decide to buy.

Thank you again for your answer and please feel free to add any comments.

Call some vendors. Get some free lunches out of it....

c'mon...who hasn't done this.

I went to the Executive Briefing Center for Alcatel Lucent and their product is not bad. Build using Bell Lab technologies, great voicemail and a true Genesys environment for the Call Center.

Take a look at Allworx. We're primarily a Nortel/Avaya vendor, but we also do Allworx which is actually a pretty good SMB phone system. It's all IP/SIP based - just a single appliance that takes up 1U in rack space.

How about the obvious CS1000E?

You can take your telephone sets with you (typically at least 30% of the cost of a new system is the sets).

You can get support anywhere.

Your users are already familiar with the interface.

It's going to be around and supported for years to come.

Best thing will be to upgrade your current system to CS1000E. If it's 10 years old, you will have to upgrade your few cards and Lo !!! You have it.

I don't know if Avaya is still selling BCM. It's another good option.

Go For It Even If It's Impossible !
