I have just installed a Pioneer 114 (tray) DVD Drive and Win95 can only see 270Mb of it's content; there are no problems with normal CD disks.
What software is required to run and read DVD data disks. I am using a RealMagic Pro Decoder with RealMagic Control Centre. Win95 V2 has "seen" my drive and listed it correctly. Is there any other software needed eg. Win95 drivers. I have looked on Pioneer's web site but there doesn't appear to be any. Has anyone got any good ideas?
This may not be the answer you expected, but it is our practice. We have been a reseller
for 15 years. Whenever a new product is
distributed (DVD in this case) there are
many vendors to choose from. Until the
product is 'stabilized', many will exhibit
problems. Our suggestion is to return it
and try another model or manufacturer. Why
spend your precious time troubleshooting
a new product? Computer equipment is the
only product where people seem to accept
'defective' products. No one I know purchases
clothing, cars, etc, then expects to spend
hours of their time on the phone or Web Sites
trying to figure out how to use the product.

What a great piece of advice. I have now replaced my Pioneer 114 tray drive for a Toshiba 1302 8X 40X tray model, and it works a treat.
Thanks for the advice and for taking the time out to answer my query.
Somtime time ago I was installing DVD's and they would not play moves but did would
read files, So here is what I found out. DVD moves are region specific and requier a download to read the cd properly. It might be that you need the download to read the DVD disc. Hope this helps.
