What will happen to exchange if Domain changes?!

hi all;
I should create a new domain for my org and define the users in the new domain, how can I have the users mailboxes in the brand new domain with different domain name? actually my DC is not performig his work well so I must format the DC.

My god.... Bad Idea... Do not format your DC... (Exept if you have another one... and your are in native mode)and do not change your domain!
Add a extension to your domain but do not change it!

exemple: mydomain.com
good.mydomain.com

You can setup up a new server next to the running one and move the mailboxes and users using the ADMT tool version 2.0 is available from MS

If you only have one server I would use exmerge from Exchange 2000 SP3.
