What Ver of NICE is required for Etrali Rls 35? 1

I currently have a 2-Node Etrali Etradeal system running MACH2 turrets with Etrali 23.30 and NICE rls 8.7

We're wanting to upgrade the Etrali system to Rls 35. With that in mind what is the minimum (hardware & software) I need for the NICE?

Will I also need to upgrade/replace any of my logger or CLS hardware? They're currently running with 12 gig tapes and mirroring. I'd really like to get off tape and onto a network storage drive, but funds are limited. What are my options?

You won't need to change the hardware, but check with etrali that the cdr format is not going to change with the version. You will need storage center which will cost you a tidy packet as they will probably try to force a forklift upgrade for that version.

Well now I'm being told we need to change the NICE S/W as well to get away from NT4. WHat NICE rls can I go to that will give me either Win2K or XP and still keep the old hardware?

I know the forklift is coming at some point, just trying to see what we can do with what we have.

8.7 should be installed on 2k server, i think the last vers that ran on NT was 8.5 or 8.1. If the maintainer is telling you to upgrade just threaten to go elsewhere, 8.7 is not sunset for support only upgrades.

Well NOW you're going to make me recheck exactly what ver we really are running. Yes, we had 8.5 at one time, but I thought for sure we did an upgrade to 8.7 - maybe it was just wishful thinking. I can personally guarantee the O/S today is NT4, that much I know for sure

The 5 loggers & 2 CLS machines are all ISA bus. The loggers have mirrored DDS3 drives. I have no clue what's inside the playback unit other than 2 more tape drives. Everything is approx 5 years old. From what I'm hearing it sounds like I'm going to need a wheelbarrow full of cash if I have to forklift this thing.

Maybe it's time to ask again why it is we're still recording. Goldman-Sachs stopped, so did a few others after Enron imploded.

The cdr settings on a etrali system v35 using jade can be configured to be the same as v23.But with all etrali systems if at any time you need to change the setting a system reset is needed.If you are going to use two CLS with etrali the can setup two cdr feeds but can only work with one CLS in regards to redunancy n+1 solution.
