we have an access file that is about 15 meg. and about 10 people using it. We access the data base about 120 times an hour. It has been bogging down lately. How much ram and processing speed do you suggest.

What operating system are you using?
What is your current configuration?

In this day and age you shouldn't be using computers with less than 256 MB of RAM, ideally you should have 512 MB. I have found that the speed of the network is probably the biggest factor. I have worked on databases where the network connection was 100 mbps and it was light years faster on machines even with less RAM. Multi-user databases running on 10 mbps networks tend to run slow even with a lot of RAM.

see that is the thing i have office xp pro, while other computers are running windows 2000. Plus all comps vary with performance. I am trying to standardize it for my boss.
