We recently found a stash of old backup tapes. We no longer use that particular backup system, so the tapes are of no use. I'm kinda stuck on what to do with them.
They are two-three year old daily, weekly, and monthly tapes. We could keep them, but I am trying to better utilize our tech storage. It had really turned into a catch all.

Well if you want to get rid of them, just smash 'em with a hammer. Or you could keep them at your facility or you could rent out secure storage somewhere and keep the tapes there.

It's really whatever you wanna do.

Offer them as a donation to Tek-Tips'

If you want to dispose of them, then make sure they are destroyed first. They still contain sensitive data.

Leave it to your imagination how to do that.

Cheers,
Brodie

the tapes can make great kite tails :)
Or tape em together and make a rastafarian wig

Do you need a hammer?
You could make a video smashing them and after could upload it to Youtube. Just post back link if you do this.
