I would like some input on what test equipment you use to verify T1 circuits.
Currently dealing with an intermittant problem on a T1 and would like the ability to test the circuit myself.
Coming from a data backround I miss the ability of putting a BERT test monitor on the line looping it and running my own test......not relying on what the telco says.
Thanks in advance for your input.

TTC has the T-BERD series DS1 testers available. Just Google T-BERD and you get all kinds of results. If you need to try it, there are places that rent test equipment like that.

I have used this piece of test gear for over 10 years
runs around $1200, anything else and I tell the Vendor to bring out the big guns

Even though the T1-Watcher is a basic device, it is limited to one side of the DS1 at a time, and only the receive mode only. No transmit or looping CSUs or NIUs, and if monitoring you only get one side of the conversation, etc.

Most of the "basic" units like this I have seen over the years have this major limitation!
