Swish is not as powerful as flash. Swish max is trying to catchup.
However, anyone can operate swish within 1 hr of contact with it.
In fact, I've created movies I'll probably not be able to create with flash because of the steeper learning curve (of flash)and less user friendly work space of flash when compared to swish.
Swish is also good for small projects not elaborate jobs.
I use swish to make small banners, front/opening pages scrolling and rotating logos(incorporated in my delphi applications). Its good for all that, but not much more!!!
I like it(swish), though I'm now learing flash.
Yomi.
I appreciate your suggestion much man, but what about the action script that Swish Max suports. Of how much value is this to the SWISH vs.Flash comparison?
I ask these things bacause I am now wondering how much effort I should put into learning swish as opposed to Macromedia Flash. I'd also like to know whether the knowledge gained in swish is transferable to flash and vise-versa.
All knowledge is valuable. Swish/swish max will always be a quicker way into programming in this area. If you are old enough to remember, while some people sweated over a really (deliberately) difficult prog called C; others were using dbase and fox and vb and getting results. Nowadays, the same companies offer these solutions to achieve the same database or .net /web / xml solutions.
So far, swish I find works, while I find it hard to follow the tutorials for flash. As I said, I'm actually starting a quick course in flash next week, so I'll probably change my mind once it all starts making sense.
I worked on swish last night and it really is a good way to perform some jobs; however it is not ok for dynamically loading graphics at runtime .....
I'm sure you understand what I'm trying 2 say.
Yomi.
Sure Yomyom. I do in fact get what u are trying to say. I appreciate the advice. I thonk I'll take a go at learning Swish then. I stil have an eye on Flash though. However, I am just taking small shots at it for now.
