Hi All

I was wondering anyone knows what are the standard project libaries you get with the following versions of MS XL:

Microsoft Excel Version 97
Microsoft Excel 2000
Microsoft Excel 2002
Microsoft Excel 2003

The ones that I am concerned with are:
Visual Basic for Applications
Microsoft 10.0 Object Library
OLE Automation
Microsoft Office 10.0 Object Library
Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object Library
Microsoft ActiveX DataObjects 2.8 Library
Microsoft ActiveX DataObjects Recordset 2.8 Library
Microsoft XML,Version 3.0

If I ran my MS XL version 2002 with the followign libraries/references, will there be any errors/issues with previous versions (since the versions of the references may be different)? Thanks for your help

Gautam

Yes, there probably could be. I do not think, for example, the ActiveX library is a standard install. Why do a check for existing references based on the current app version? If the needed library is not present, load it.

Hi Gerry

The reason why I ask is I am deploying an XL template externally that uses these macros that uses the mentioned libraries. I wanted to be sure that all the users with different versions of XL (97 onwards) could use the same tool so that there would be any errors. Thanks for your reply and appreciate any help that you can give.

Either use late binding (ie keep only the references you can't delete in an empty VBAproject) or distribute an xl97 template.

Hope This Helps, PH.
