what program to monitor network traffic

what is a good program (possibly freeware)to use to monitor network traffic??

im mirroring a port on my cisco switch now for surfcontrol but would like a more informative program

If you need to monitor traffic coming from a specific ip address you can use the capture command:

and use ethereal to analyze the packet capture
