I have a simple home network with an ADSL router on it. I want to setup a VPN so I can get in with my laptop from any customer site.

Which ports do I need to forward on my router to the Win2k server?

I've enabled remote access etc and am trying to use PPTP.

The router is a D Link DSL-504 and I have only 1 static ip address.

I've got TCP 1723 forwarding to my server but it doesnt seem to work :(

Have you also tried port 41, I believe?
Are you getting an error message at the remote client?

Okay. My error - It's pass through I'm trying to achieve to a Windows 2000 server
I'll try port 41.

Make sure the user you are trying to login w/ has remote access privlages

Sounds like you are trying to Port Forward. Pass-Thru is Outbound, not inbound. You misunderstood. That router cannot port forward VPN traffic, it probably cannot recognize GRE packets. You will be unable to do this with the D-Link... Thanks,

Matt Wray
