Hi all,

Any one got any recommendations on a semi decent non-bank breaking LAN switch to support a Avaya IPO500?

Very basic install, Lan to support gigabit, Voice and Data, PoE, IP Handsets 9612G (mainly). Switch to act as core/main lan switch.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Thanks for the link.

Does it have to be a L3 switch and Avaya?

I was looking at the HP ProCurve 2610-24-PWR, anyone know if this would be suitable to run the IPo500?

I use HP Procurve 2610 or Cisco SG300 for my customers, both performing well.
Over all HP is a better switch, but Cisco is way cheaper if you need optical connection in the future.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Thanks Gunnar

What kind of router do you use at these sites?

Depends on what the customer is willing to pay, preferences, or what the ISP provides in a package deal.
Mostly Cisco 800 series, Cisco ASA 5505/5510, Netgear FVS336Gv2, (and a really good firewall: WatchGuard)

Kind regards

Gunnar

We use Cisco SG200 and SG300 series for 99% of our networks. Some SG500 L3 switches for larger customers. Solid switches and pricing is pretty good. Be careful with SG200 series, only half of their ports are POE.

We use the avaya switches. Just run the verbose script to enable QOS and you good to go!

We use HP procurves.
Those Avaya switches are way overpriced.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
