i have a location that has 3 I/C, and 1 appearance. does this mean only one call at a time? then the second incoming call would follow fwd busy. why would i have 3 intercoms then? just confused as to what makes a line busy.

If the line appearance is a Target Line, then the 2nd incoming call would roll to the bottom Intercom button. If a POTS line it will not, busy would depend on a Telco hunt group or not. A recpt. telephone might have 3 Intercoms, so they can Ftr 986 w/o issues.

Need more clarification.

okay, a target line is assigned, 3 I/C, ring only, 1 appearance and fwd busy to the console. branch is complaining too many calls go to the console when they are on the phone? they cannot possibly all have 3 calls going. i also dont understand the relationship of the appearance entry to the number of intercoms you choose in programming.

If there DID lines you assign Target lines to the DN of the phone as I/C Keys.

Each I/C allows 1 call, so you could have 3 call but you can only talk to 1 at a time.

If you Make it Forward on Busy, you will only get 1 call, you should make it Forward no answer to Console.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

CFB should not be on if you want more than 1 call. As soon as handset goes off hook, all calls going to that telephone will forward. ace is correct. Use CFNA to console, this will allow the chance to answer a call or not before it forwards to console.
