Lost a print head in my Phaser 850 and purchased one for replacement. Thought I could do it myself but in following the Dissambly guide I get to the point that I cannot lift it from it's two retaining connections. Easily removed the data harness, wiring harness and gound leads. Loosened completely the two mounting screws for the printhead. Now I'm stuck. Am having difficulty moving the printhead forward and have moved the cam to the three printhead positions. IS THERE A TRICK HERE THAT I AM MISSING. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom

If the printhead is positioned all the way against the right side of the chassis it is locked in place. You need to rotate the motor on the right side that moves the printhead from side to side. Position it midway in its full travel and this should allow it to be removed. Also note that it still may be difficult if it is not lifted evenly on both sides. It is normal taht these are tight, there is not much play so you may need to free up one side at a time to break it free then lift out evenly. Hope this helps.

Marty you are the very best.

Your instructions solved my problem and let me finish the job.

Thanks and thanks.

I would also like to find a source for a printhead. Where did you get the unit?
