Hello all,

I'm planning to roll out SP2 to my WinXP users. But I found a note on Microsoft Website stating that there is a known problem with NAV Corporate Edition v. 8.1, which is what we are using. I've tested it on a few PCs, but I can't seem to find any problem with NAV. That makes me very nervous.

Has anyone else tried SP2 on PC with NAV Corp. Edition? Have you experience any problem?

Thank you very much in advance,
Patrick

Well, um, if you type in you'll see a link right on their home page that will tell you all about it.

Probably a good place for you to start.

I'm Certifiable, not certified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

Thanks lander215,

But now I have conflicting information from Microsoft (who says there is a problem) and Symantec (who says there is no problem).

So, not only do I still don't know what is the problem between NAV and SP2, I now know that at least one of the two companies is lying to their customers.

Thanks,
Patrick

Please provide a link to the MS info you're talking about.

I am using Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 8.x and installed XP pro SP2 and the only problem I have had is when the computer rebooted it doesn't recognize Symantec as valid protecting software so I checked the box that I am monitoring it myself. My def files are updated automatically and they are current to Sept 15, 2004 The Symantec site said that a patch to fix problem is available for Version 9 now, but older products like ver. 8 will get patch in mid January 2005 timeframe.

Right, klat2beradanik2. The patch that Symantec is talking about is a patch to allow WinXPSP2 to "see" that NAV is working, and thus will not show the warning that you mentioned about SP2 not recognizing that NAV is working.

And for lander215, here is the link on MS site <
Thanks guys,
Patrick
