Hi,

A wild guess here but can it be that you mean LSASS. When you look in the task manager the lower-case L really looks like an I.

Anyway here is info on LSASS:

lsass - lsass.exe - Process Information
Process File: lsass or lsass.exe
Process Name: Local Security Authority Service
Description: The Windows Local Security Authority Server Process Handles Windows Security Mechanisms
Common Errors: N/A
System Process: Yes

I was under the impression that lsass.exe is the executable that net logon uses. I think the Control Panel> Admin Tools>Services>net logon proprties reveals lsass.exe as the program that 'net logon' uses.

thanks everyone, i needed to make sure this was a process needed by windows
