What is the difference between blob in = blobout maps?

I have 2 generic maps, both have 1 input card and 1 output card.

Map #1 has output 1 = input 1. (Like a validation map)

Map #2 has output 1 = NONE.

These maps are used to simply route data or call a batch scripts in the IFD design. Is there a difference between the two?

Yes. The first outputs the data to an adapter assuming the output card is not SINK and the second doesn't.
If you call the maps from another map you can return data from the first map but not the second.

You can also over-ride map #1 for other uses, but map#2 is the actual validation map. In later versions, you don't even need an output card to test validation.

What about if the source calls a batch file, triggered by a time event?

We have one map (output 1 = input 1) that is triggered by a time event, and the souce is a batch file and the output is set to SINK. We always get a source not available...yet it's a batch file! Any ideas?

Batch might not complete in time if you have -poll used.
Batch might not be returning what the tree expects.

Test with a simple batch command line such as dir *.txt
