Any one please explain about ad-hoc Vs Canned Vs on-demand reports

Thanks,

One possible interpretation:

Canned: Get it each period (or on exception)
On Demand: Get it when you want
Ad Hoc: Design it when you need it

hth,
- Ido

CUT, Visual CUT, and DataLink Viewer:
view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

I would add another classification of:

Scheduled: Reports that are generally static in design, as with canned reports, but have a regularly scheduled occurence.
Canned: Reports that have been supplied with a product. These are not to be altered, but might be saved under another name and bastardized.
On Demand: Canned or Scheduled reports which are run when required.
Ad Hoc: Designed to fulfill one time types of requirements.

Obviously this is subjective, and some consider anything which is a scheduled report a canned report. I differentiate them as I create reports for commercial products and we explicitly refer to those as canned because they are supplied with the product and cannot be altered.
