I like to use hue/saturation, select the red chanel and drop the saturation until a more natural look apears. You may want to put a mask around the face to remove the redness from just the face.
Colour range i found is best. Use eyedropper tool to select the redness, choose colour range and play with fuzziness to get desired range, hit ok, then curves, select green channel and play with curve to reduce magenta look or increase magenta look. If too yellow, play with blue channel. If too cyan, play with red channel. hope this helps.
Depending on the rest of the image (color balance-wise), you may find Image>Adjustments>Variations will suffice, with Midtones selected, and the slider set one mark below the middle. Then just click on the yellow to adjust to taste. Faster and easier than color range, quicker than curves, and less confusing than channels.
