I'm looking for a softphone application to use with some 4610 IPs. Cost is a major factor, so im looking for the best freeware available on the net.

Ive checked google and some previous posts on this site.
Just looking for some additional options before I make a decision and or start testing.

Is it IPO or CM? THe only thing i know of for the IPO is phone manager.

Usually the term "Softphone" indicates that you would use this instead of a "hard" phone (4610 in your case). If you're looking for a companion application, Phone Manager is really the best choice. Lite is free. Pro requires license. You can also use Outlook, etc for dialing - again at no cost.

I was unaware that Phone Manager Lite is free.

I too am familiar with using softphones to bypass the use of a hard phone, the 4610s in this case.

The question has been presented whether I can implement softphone. Considering we use 4610s for agents I searched and found Phone Manager and a few other programs that were somewhat incompatible with 4610s.

My company's is using CM

My company is using a G700, does Phone Manager work outside of IP Office?

No it only works on the IPO. you may have better luck with help in the definity forum.

Is the 4610 a sip or a H323 phone ?

If it is sip you could try X-lite (counterpath)

Just an update incase someone runs across this thread.
Ive been using the Avaya IP Softphone software, version R5.

Thumbs up works pretty well, just had to set up a new route for the traffic.
