Hello all,

I need a solution that will allow me to securely (i.e. encrypted) access a customer's switch via the internet. With the proliferation of internet access, and WiFi in particular, it has become increasingly rare to find an analog dialtone (especially when mobile). I prefer to use ethernet vs. RS232.

Currently, the company I work for uses L0gmein for all PC Console, OTM and HMS access. I'm trying to migrate them toward not having the actual PCs connected to the internet as it exposes them to unnecessary risk.

Any recommendations?

How is the Digi One Ts configured? What type of cable configuration? I was called out to a military base a month ago and they were trying to install one of those. It kept burning up the paddle boards when they plugged it in. When I arrived on site I had to use the phone to login to the system. They fried every card trying to get it to work!

this is the garbage i see when i plug the uds

When you see that it means the device and the port are not on the same buad rate or the other config settings are not correct such as 8n1 or 7s1 7e1. The only thing to do now is change the settings on the uds-10 to complete the setup so you can communicate with the pbx. Go to LD 22 and print ADAN tty to see what the settings are for the TTY you are connected to.

Make sure your enter key is configured to send the correct data to the switch I had an issue whereby it was sending a next line followed by a carriage return instead of just a carriage return. Just a thought.

i checked in ld 22 prt adan on that tty and the settings are ok ...what could cause the echo ...and how do i check the config of the enter key ??

Terminal Emulator - that's Procomm, HyperTerm, Reflections, Vandyke, Putty, etc...whatever you are using to type into. That's where I'd be looking to solve the echo.

I check My config to match the one posted above on the older unit. And it is idential. But I think there is more options and I don't know what I might of turned on to do this. I can direct connect to the port without any issues.

Thanks
