What is oranames.net?

Hi! Does anybody have information regarding to oranames.net? I tried to find references about it and how it differs than the conventional tnsnames.ora from both Oracle OTN and METALINK but failed.
Any tips or redirections are appreciated!

Not sure about the oranames.net but I bet it has to do with oracle names server. It acts like a network DNS server but resolves database names. Look up Oracle Names Server in the Oracle 9i Net Services Reference Guide or any other 9i Networking document. The name of the configuration file is names.ora
