I am lookging to find what protocol is used inside of the cluster heart beat, what protocol?

the question was more in the way to know if SMNP services are required for the Microsoft Cluster heartbeat to work.

in a 2 Node cluster environment UDP is used on the hearbeat connection.On 3 and more nodes multicast.
