Hello I have windows xp sp2 with all updates installed. Everytime I restart my computer it I have another file on my desktop. The file is prf46~22.IDE the 46~22 varies on the different files. however all files have the same date,
[ZoneTransfer]
ZoneId=3

What does this mean and what is creating them. Can it be stoped.

Chris

what antivirus program do you have? is someone playing a joke on you? check your startup items.

I run norton anti virus 2005 no one is playing a joke, and I find nothing funny in the startup.

Hi,
It looks like the output from a disk check that shows what damaged files are on the HDD..XP may be doing a check on startup ( like chkdsk ) and showing you what was found - if the autofix option is on then it will have corrected the problem, but you should find out why it is happening.
( the IDE extension seems to mean that it is disk related)
