what is call park system ?

Dear all

As we are using ips 2000 system.. i wud like to know about the call park system and how to do that in mat worx32.. could any one pleae be explained in detail..and the detailed programme in mat ..

Call park is a feature which in my experience is seldom used on NEC boxes. It is much more prevalent on Fujitsu and possibly Mitel systems. The idea is that you dial the feature access code (or press the appropriate key) followed by a number (parking location). You can then page the person the call is for telling them call park XXX where xxx is the number you parked it on. They can then go to any extension and dial the retrieve code (or press a key) followed by the parking number and get the call.

Never having used it, I won't try and tell you how to programme it. However if you can get hold of the feature programming manual, it should be detailed in there.

thanks a lot for information given on this subject..
you might be remembered i asked u previously about the trunk to trunk transfer in ips 2000.. for which you have given me some hints..I also seen in the future manual about this option.. but i couldnt follow.. could you please explain me once if you gets convinient time? I tried in our 32d determ phone.. when i was trying to transfer the trunk to trunk ..it was not through and the call is getting back to determ. our trunk lines programmed as D000 to D0005

The first thing we need to know is, do your lines get a cleardown signal from the telephone exchange? If they do not then you should not try trunk to trunk transfer! If you do the lines will lock up to each other and you won't be able to use them until you physically break the link!!!

thanks for your continuous help. Yes our lines got very cleardown signal as the main telephone exchange is located very nearer to our place.

If you feels, this is a problamatic issue, we shouldnt use this feature.. if not you may please be guide us..

I think you misunderstand what I mean by clear down. This term means that when the calling party hangs up the exchange sends a signal to your PABX to inform it that the call has ended. Without that signal the card in the PABX will think that there is a valid call in progress even after all parties have hung up!

With a call to an extension on your system, when the extension hangs up it is the trigger for the system to "clear down the call, freeing up the equipment for the next call. If there is no clear down signal on your lines (not common on PSTN lines but there are some that do like reversal on idle) then you are connecting two users together, neither of which will trigger the cleardown. So the call will stay up indefinitely when this happens you basically have to pull the card out of the system and then put it back to free up the circuits.

If you can find out if you have or can get something like reversal on idle then it may be worth looking at the programming. Feel free to post back if so.
 
We used call park constantly at my old job. Park the call, page for the person to pick it up. It worked great.
