But that is for type 0 user mailboxes it depends on the type of system you are talking about but in a Aria you can have 100 seats but still have 1000 mailboxes as long as the other 900 are not user mailboxes.
Same in MM where caller apps do not count towards the seats.
The other thing a "seat" does is allow for the mailbox to accsess any of the surrounding applications on the system. ie. visual desktop, fax, and so on.
An Octel 200 comes with 5,000 mailboxes (the 300 has 10,000)and they can ALL be used in applications and Single Digit Menus and the like, but the number of those that can be used to actually record messages depends on the number of "seats" or licenses that have been purchased.
I recall that they come in blocks of 25, and if you want anymore then Avaya can remotely enable them. For this there is a charge, and boy, do they charge!
