I was working on something for our hotel, and came across an extension I cannot seem to touch for some reason.

6108...

When I do a 'list usage extension 6108' the system says "No data to report" -- thinking this was maybe for call parking, I did a 'disp console-parameters' and checked shared common extensions, its not in there either. "list groups-of-extension 6108" comes up blank too.

I cannot remove, edit, or change this extension, which seems silly. It doesn't seem to be doing anything, and caught my curiousity. Any way to get the system to tell me what this is?

LOL...Still got nothing -- Man, feel like I'm playing Hide and go seek with a random telephone extension. I wouldn't bother but its right smack in the middle of a dial range of things I am re-ordering

It's like one of those darn chunks of 'immovable data' when defragging a hard disk or something, except replace 'data' with 'extensions'

What happens if you dial the extension?

disp att 1 and see if it is a call park extension for the consoles to use. These are phantom numbers like the one you have described that are setup for the attendants to park calls. This is on the third page in the feature button assignments.
Code:
[B]
 8: busy-ind TAC/Ext: 21
 9: busy-ind TAC/Ext: 22
10: busy-ind TAC/Ext: 23
11: busy-ind TAC/Ext: 24
12: busy-ind TAC/Ext: 25

Looked in ATT 1 and ATT 2...none of the TAC/Ext list 6108.

Man what the heck. I seriously cannot find this one. Is there a way to list data extensions? I can't think of what else this might be.

Maybe I should just 'busyout sta 6108' and wait for the "ITS NOT WORKING!!" calls or something

I can help you find this and remove it if you need help.
You would have to let me connect to your server.

Phantom Extensions are used by the Attendant. They are administered using the 'change console' command. On page 2 you define the starting extension number and how many phantom extensions you want under the COMMON SHARED EXTENSION field. I believe they are used for the Call Park feature.
