what is a good modem

I have a P3 733. I'm sick and tired of modems.
Can anyone reccomend a modem that is capable of running in XP. I need the following spec's.
fax, data, voice, distinctive ring.

I have found the best modems to be the US Robotics external 56k modems they are faster than internal modems but they aint cheap.

HI, I JUST ORDERED A ZOOM 2985 CONTROLLER TYPE MODEM, HAS MORE FEATURES THEN THE REST, WORKS ON XP TOO, WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW IT IS ON FRIDAY NITE. USB, CHANNEL 2 CALL WAITING TOO!!!

So how did/does that zoom 2985 controller type modem work for you? Does it support distinctive ring?
