Just to go with bofh, we use aximcams as well. They have a really cool piece of software to do 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 fullscreen on monitors if you have lots of cameras. It records either permenantly or on motion detection.
We've had them for coming upto a year now and have found them quite impressive.
I wish someone would just call me Sir, without adding 'Your making a scene'.
We have also had 5 AXIS 2100's for over a year and they are working great. I set up a dedicated PC with a 120G disk to record video from the cameras using AXIS Camera Recorder software.
I also discovered that the D-Link DWL-P200 Power over ehternet boxes will work with the Axis cameras. You can get these for about $40 per camera. These are the cheapest POE devices that I could find at the time.
