What happens when operator isn't there

I have checked the Forum and the FAQs and can't find this answer. What I am trying to do is to change the behavior of CCR so when a user presses 0 or stays on the line, they get the operator's voice mail if the operator isn't there.

This would be instead of what seems to be the default behavior which is, if the operator isn't there, calls get forwarded to a General Delivery mailbox. My problem is, we share our system with another company, and it's their General Delivery mailbox, with their greeting. I want to take them out of our loop entirely. Plus, our operator checks her voice mail quite often and it's easier for her than dealing with the GD mailbox ... never mind that callers will be a lot less confused if they hear her greeting than the other company's GD mailbox greeting!

Thanks for any help ...

Table
Table: 1 or whatever table your lines are being answered by.
AA menu prompt: Press ok or next until you see
ATDT: This means attendant. Enter the extension number of the person you want to be the 0 out person.

The general deliver mailbox is 100. See what extension number is assigned to that mailbox. You can either assign the mailbox to your 0 out extension or have the 0 out person's mailbox be the general delivery for your company. Forward no answer their phone to vmail after 4/ 5 rings. Put your company greeting there. "You have reach Company ABC's general delivery mailbox......"

You may also want to disable the general delevery mailbox if you will not have anyone checking messages on it. you can do this by logging on to feature 9 8 3 then press 6 and change the option for Gen Delivery: to No. JerryReeve

I would like to try this to see if I just get the operator extension's voicemail if the operator is not there. However, I do not get this menu choice. I dial

Feature 983
Password 102xxxx (sys coordinator password)
Press 6

I get a prompt that says "Num of chans", not Gen Delivery. I tried other numbers instead of 6 and got nothing that looked like Gen Delivery.

I'll kind of jump in here and ask what version of voicemail you have? feature 983 102(0000) then press 9

The version is StarTalk 2.0.4L.

you have either a startalk 165 or 385 voicemail ( the 385 has the big flopy drive on the side ). pre startalk flash or nam. unfortunatlly your only hope is to re record the general delivery mailbox greeting to something company neutral. There is no way with this voicemail to separate attendant points as per greeting table. you can't even turn off the general delivery mailbox. - pretty basic system eh! ( I 'm also going to guess your in Canada )

Thanks west coaster ... will do.
