Hello all,

I have recently been given the responsibility of maintaining our company's website and would like to enable the 'usage analysis settings' in order to run usage reports.

All of the references I have found say to have my Web server/administrator enable this for me . . . The problem is I am the administrator (we publish our site directly) and don't know what to do.

When I am in FrontPage I click on Tools, then Server, but then my 'Administration Home' link is faded and not an option.

Any ideas????

Thanks,

Shanda

Corey,

The first time I tried, I was on my desktop (where I update the website on a day-to-day basis) and when that didn't work, I went to our network server and tried that computer . . . 'Administration Home' was still unavailable though . . .

Shanda

Corey,

Do you mean open it in FrontPage? Whenever I work on my desktop I have my web ( open and I still don't have access to that link. Is there a way to access the link from the Internet?

Shanda

Corey,

I opened the web in FrontPage and the link is still unavailable . . . Do you have any other suggestions??

I don't know Larry Henderson or Paul Martia (I know a Paul Meyers though :) ) - are they from the Denver area??

Shanda

This might be a weird way around it. Try going to:
and see if that works? If not - ask your hosting company to re-install the extensions.

Well Henderson does. They both fly a lot & Martia used to be out there. He is a business partner of mine in anther venture. Just was curius - always interesting to see exactly how small the world is.

Corey,

I'm afraid you were right - that didn't work . . . But thank you so much for the suggestions.

I'll go ahead and ask the hosting company (when I figure out who that is . . .) to reinstall my extensions. Is there a way I can reinstall them myself??

Shanda

And I'm glad you ask about your friends - the world is an incredibly small place and it's wonderfull to find connections!!

Corey,

Thank you so much for all your help! How did you know who my host was? I've been trying to figure it out for weeks . . . (can you tell how incredibly experienced I am with FrontPage yet??)

Shanda

Corey,

You know what? I called the company from the number I found on their website and he informed me that the person who used to work here actually 'hosts' the site from our office location . . . Now what? Should I try contacting that person??

Shanda

I went to another WHOIS directory, came up with this:

DNSAUTH1.SYS.GTEI.NET 4.2.49.2
JUNTA.SOLUCIAN.NET 205.180.248.130

But if the guy who used to work there hosts it from your location - the server must be in your building & he does not have any control over it anymore. Anyone there that you know where this server might be?

Corey,

We only have about 5 employees here and no one has any idea what I'm talking about . . . I guess I'll just try finding it myself. When I do find the server will I be able to download the correct extensions myself, and where would I find those?

Thank you so much (again and again!!)

Shanda

Corey,

I'm afraid I'll probably get the "something else" so I'd better try and work this out myself!

Thank you so much for all your help - I checked out the article you gave me and it looks like exactly what I need! (after I find the server of course :) )

Well, wish me luck . . .

Shanda
