I have a TurboLinux 6.5 server that is running DNS. When I checked it this morning, the following lines were repeatedly displayed on the screen (in this order).

e100: eth0 NIC Link is Down
e100: eth0 NIC Link is UP 10 Mbps Half duplex

Can anybody tell me whats wrong and what this means?

Thank you in advance,
REI

Hi. I replaced the network cable, however the same message gets displayed on the screen.

e100: eth0 NIC Link is Down
e100: eth0 NIC Link is UP 10 Mbps Half duplex

Are there any other suggestions that could fix this?

Thanks,
REI

sounds like a hardware issue. the eepro100 drivers are rock solid. What's on the other end of the network cable?
if it is a 100Mbps switch then it could be that the switch is not correctly auto-detecting the speed. try different ports in the switch in case one is bad. if you have a spare ee100 card try swapping it out.
if nothing works then try booting from a 'live' cd like gibraltar or knoppix. if the eepro card works with that no problem then you may need a new kernel for turbo linux.
