Usually this is caused by someone logging in under the 'craft' password. When U log in as Craft, the system asks U if U want to disable alarm origination.
Did U have a technician out there lately? If so, have the technician dial in and turn it back on.
I believe that it is 'change system maint' to enable 'Alarm origination'. But U have to have the permissions to do that. If U can't change it, U maybe able to do 'display system maint'. Usually U only have it enabled if U have a maintenance program with AVaya or someone else, or if U have your own system that monitors your telephone system. If none of these apply, then I can't think of a reason that U need it enabled. Except,I guess, U could have it call your home phone or cell phone and when U saw the caller id, U would know that something is wrong with your system, but not what in particular.
U have to have a line connected to the maintenance port on the phone system either way.
