I got a copy of TurboProject (base model) free with some magazine. I've tried it a bit and it so far seems ok, if lacking in bells and whistles.

On client sites I always get supplied with MS Project which is fine but I don't want to buy because I have a problem with the price.

Does anyone use Turboproject? Has anyone tried but found it is not up to it?

I tried Turbo Project for a while out of curiosity. It would have been affordable for a non-profit I was supporting. My biggest problem with it was that their data format is proprietary. It will import MS Project files, but not export them. I also found the UI a little klutzy compared to MS Project. All in all, not a bad value for small projects, if purchase price is really a deciding factor.

It looks like you need Turboproject Professional to write MS project format files. That has a list price of $350 so not such a saving on MS Project itself.

BNPMike, if you are looking for low cost PM software, you might find something in my Directory of Windows Based Project Management Software:

IIRC, there are some free and low cost ones listed in there.
