I use a secure server for the work website so I do not have FTP. Instead my company gives me a slow horrible bit of in-house software to use. So I opt to use DreamWeaver and then copy and paste the code back in online.

I have used Teleport Pro to copy my website onto my HDD. However, when I tested a copy and paste back on the site I noticed that the image tags were different. The difference caused all the image links to break.

The image structure should have been: src="/img/ESS

But instead I got: src="../img/ESS

What do the two dots mean? and why are they there? As soon as I get rid of the dots everything is OK.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

The 2 dots reference the parent folder

Cheers for the response.

After a few hours last night I finally managed to track down the culprit that was responsible.

It turned out to be the insert image option of "relative to". By default it was selected to "document", but as soon as I changed it to site it sorted the problem out.

Did I mention that I have only had 3 hours sleep and cried like a baby? Pathetic eh!

Cheers again Johnwm
