I purchased an IBM Thinkpad R50.
What do I need to connect to the interent wirelessly?

I have connected a wireless router to use my work pc at home and while using it I detect several wireless signals in my apartment.

I would like to know what do I need in my Thinkpad R50 to connect to a wiress signal?

Set a "preferred" connection to your wireless router, including SSID information, WEP or WPA information if used, and specify that you only connect to "preferred" sites that are secured.

Thank you for your answer however I think I need more details.
How do I turn on my wireless network detection?
I don't even know where to start.
This laptop is totally new and has never been connected to the internet.

My company tells me I can use the router they provided me to use with the company's laptop and connect to it with my personal laptop. How do I do that?
