What Corporate level Antivirus do you use?

Hello all i wish i could start a poll but i was just wondering what kind centralized Antivirus you guys run in your networks..

Potential answers are
- Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 9.0
- Symantec AntiVirus Small Business Edition 8.0

Symantec Corp 9 on about 450 clients, it has nice central management features and the latest version will also scan for spyware which i have found to be an eye opener.

We use McAFee ePO v3.5 with VirusScan v8.0.1 on clients/servers

Not sure I'd recommend it though, it can be resource-intensive on the client, it's buggy and the ePO (the management console) lacks a lot of features.

A vote each for Trend and Sophos.
Both have good reps - particularly for maintaining system stability and staying out of the way of the user.

Symantec CE, never had a virus get through on any of my client's networks, been using it for about 7 years.

I am a network consultat and my company has well over 150 clients with networks ranging from 10 pcs to 150 pcs. We have them all setup with SAV/NAV corp. Great central admin, easy deployment (can install the client to all your pcs from the server), great tech support, and it just plain works.

I don't deal with any virus issues what so ever.

I was using Symantec Corp 8 but have switched to Norman Antivirus. I find the Norman Scan engine is better than Symantec however I HATE their GUI. They are pretty good. Microsoft uses their product :

I used to use McAffee but after having to buy different versions for the servers and manually installing the software on each workstation (or utilizine SMS) I have switched to Sophos.

The Sophos client will run on Workstation or server, no difference between the clients. Sophos also has SAVAdmin, a console that will show all workstations in your domain or worksgroup and will allow you to push out remote installs to the machines as well as show you what version of definitions and engine are running on the workstations. In my mind Sophos has been the best (I didnt start McAffee here). Why not utilize a anti-virus software that was originally designed for a network, mcaffe and norton where for home users first, and have just recently (last year or two) began to push out thier network installs, not to impressive in my minds.

Also, with sophos you can allow your home users to utilize the antivirus, it is stated in thier contract.

This is just my 2 cents.

I agree Sophos is a very good product but i don't think your info on Symantec anti virus is correct i've used several versions of their corp products and i remember being able to remotly distribute the client a few (at least 3) years ago.
I used Sophos at my last place of work and the enterprise tools didn't seem as well rounded as those included in Symantec system center, but they do provide more frequent updates.

I think the point with Sophos is that your purchase is pretty much a blanket license to use any of their products - not just the basic AV, but also mail server AV and home distribution as mentioned before. They also provide you with continual updates of not only signatures but the overall engines as well. No "maintenance" or "software assurance" to buy. Your only decision is the length of your license term. This does make Sophos usually more expensive than the others, but the "hassle" factor trying to buy their product is nil.

With other products, its an experience to try to determine which of their offered products is the best fit. And then to decide on maintenance or subscription fees.

For me, when money isn't an issue, I use Sophos. When budget concerns are critical, I go with the Trend CSM suite.

I give my thumbs up to Symantec. Easy to deploy and administer, regularly updated definitions. The only downfall for Symantec is that it has a higher amount of system utilization than some of the other products out there.

We use Symantec Corp. Edtion 9. If I were to do it all over I would go with Sophos. I have heard a lot of good things about their products.
I really don't have any complaints about Norton though. It has never let a virus through and is easy to centrally manage. I have combined it with McAfee's CMD line scanner that scans all our email before it gets to the Symantec for Exchange. Figured some antivirus companies are quicker to update their virus definitions so two different ones running seems to deepen our defenses.
