What constitutes an initialized mailbox? 1

BCM 450 release 6.0
Looking through documentation without success:
What exactly does it take to be an intiliazed mailbox please?
Name recorded?
Greeting recorded?
Both?
When I look at the activity of a given mailbox it does not tell me if it has been initialized, just whether or not the greetings have been recorded.

Yes a person must initialize their mailbox before it can take messages.

Feature 981 (as well to check messages later)
Default password 0000
Enter new password (cannot start with 0 and must be 4 to 8 digits in length)
Verify password
Record name (not the greeting) i.e curlycod X222

Once done then you can go and change the primary greeting when ever you want.
If you do not record primary then you will get:
In my voice: curlycod X222
followed by
In bionic betty's voice: is not available, please leave a message after the tone

So recording the name means it is initialized please?
Strange how viewing the activity does not tell you if it has been initialized or not.

I just spelled it all out for you how to initialize a mailbox so why are you asking what is already answered?

As for mailbox activity it will only show activity.....simple enough.

Look at "mailbox information" to see information.

Use the directory Reports

That will tell you which mailboxes gave been intialized.

That works too, states Recorded Name N and Recorded Greeting N where Info reports states UNINIT

[Firebird Scrambler]

You can also initialize a mailbox once created by going into the mailbox manager application via the browser and use the default passcode first which forces you to change it.

This can be handy if the user isn't that good at setting a passcode or is likely to forget it!.
