What comes first?

I am new new Exchange, but i am going to install it on a fresh server. I just don't want to mess anything up. Does it matter when you install exchange or do you install last or first before you set up the DNS. Just wanted to make sure i am following the right steps.

I'd make sure your're DNS server is sorted first if you plan to send external mail.

Exchange will work if you don't set it up but you may have problems.

Do you have a constant internet connection or are you using a dial-up to an ISP mail server??

I have a T1. Is there any good forums or any good places to look on how to set Exchange 5.5 Standard Edition. Just to make sure i am doing it right, sorry never set this up before so i am new to exchange. Already got my web server up and running just need to get the e-mail running.
