Hi Guys

I have purchased a second hand MM 13 for my OPT61. Not sure on the model of the mail but it has two shelfs and on the back it has a GSP and CRT on each shelf plus a RSM and alarm on the bottom one.

If I understand correctly the CRT is for the MAT and the CSL connects to the MSDL card. I assume that the GSP is for the loop but it a 50 pin, larger than expected. Whats the RSM for? Do I need to connect both of the CSL & GSP ports? Can anyone help with clearing this up for me?

Thanks Mike

you'll need a qpc 513 in your switch in a network slot, then yout stations will program against that loop, i don't use mat, for a smaller mm, you just need the csi to 513 and the term off of the octopus cable's second port, the term comes up 1200 8N1, but most techs take it to 9600..mat does connect to a serial port (msdl) but you can interface it in more then one way, haven't installed mat in a while, don't knwo why anyone would want it, otm is about as bad unless you are using voip.

Thanks John

My mistake I meant maintenance when I typed MAT.

So I connect the QPC 513 to the CSL.

The problem I have is what do I connect the GSP port to does it Connect to a ENET card I am confused because of the 50 AMP on the GSP connector and the connectors are 36 Pin (about) on my old Mail.

Thanks

Michael

I have found an NTP that has some information on this MM but its not the correct version its version 9.5 It has instructions for connecting to a DMS100 or SL100 that looks like the GSP port is connected to standard extensions?? Can I even connect this MM to my Option 61?

Mike

if your interface card is analog.. it's going to be tough. look at your screen..
1-3-1 Node 1 MMP40 Port 1 Terminal InService
1-3-2 Node 1 MMP40 Port 2 AML/CSL InService
2-3-1 Node 2 MMP40 Port 1 ICLink InService
2-3-2 Node 2 MMP40 Port 2 Printer InService

that will help you get started, the mail will boot into service if it was pre loaded (used) without a term. find the term link, try 8n1 1200 or 96 and see if it boots. that will help us answer you questions.. i'll keep my eye on your post
