I've tried pumping it out from winamp (or itunes) from a computer, but if that computer ever locks up it kills the music. We have it running on an ipod shuffle right now and every month or so it stops for no reason and I have to restart it. I need a system designed to never be off (except power outage) what are you all using ?

there are some decent 3rd party MoH mp3 players out there. Anything with a moving part (CD,cassette) is eventually going to burn up and fail.

That exactly what I was thinking. Anyone have any particularly good experiences with any ones ? I am trying to find reviews now and just getting sales ads.

use ubuntu or some other linux and use that instead of a windows pc
it probebly runs longer then the ipod :)

Can't use the upload as our hold music is 20 minutes not 30 seconds.... again I'm not looking to do this on a pc (under any OS) I want a dedicated box that is set to play hold music and recover after power loss. Looks like I might have to try that premiere box..

We use a product very similar to the Premeir made by Valcomm and alot less money..

Mind telling me what product that is ? Or do I have to guess ?

prflash- I found the V-9988 is that what you use ? does it support coming back up when it receives power again ? that is one of the big features Im looking for.

Sorry all. Yes we use the Valcomm Messager V-9988 and it does come right back if you do lose power. The only issue that we have had with it is abiut 1 every six months the USB flash will stop. Removing it from the USB port and re-inserting it back in seemed to bring it back online

Thanks for the info, I ordered an on hold plus OHP-6000 because they had the most info out of any. Ill post how it turns out next week :)

Any MP3 player that will connect mains power with a headphone output should be fine. Or a MOH CD player

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

Our company has Muzak for the building common areas, so I use an output from the Muzak service for MOH. Big variety of tunes. Plus, the ASCAP and BMI licensing fees for rebroadcast are already paid.

for those interested the OHP for under 200 dollars has been great the last couple days. if we can make it the rest of the year with no interruptions Ill be set :)
