What are these viruses???
1) Ausvc.exe
2) coolstuff.inf
3) mnsvc.exe
Backdoor.Autoupder

My brother got this computer and never had an antivirus updated on it. I just loaded Norton 2002 and it caught 4 viruses. My question is how did he get them and how can he prevent from getting more? Norton couldn't repair them so I deleted them. I just cleaned my friends computer out she had the klez virus. I downloaded the cleaner off of download.com it was free. I always scan mine but that's just nerotic me. Does anyone know what these viruses do??

Thanx for the help,
Cindy [ponder]

You get them through email and downloaded freeware such as screensavers and the like. You can't pevent them 100%, but if you keep your ant-virus software up to date and do a full manual scan often, then you have a better chance of not infecting your computer. I personally think we should have the death penalty inforced on people who write viruses, but then Norton and McAfee would be out of business. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." Thank you both for the useful information. Mseng I went to that website and printed that page and will show it to my brother.
Thank you again,

If you go here you will see that all of these files come from one virus.

Just in case you didn't get it all you might want to get the fix here:

I hope I never get too old or arrogant to learn something new!

The Klez virus. Ouch man. I just started work here at a college computer lab, and they just got finished (hopefully, once again) cornered the Klez.h virus. They cornered it (I heard) several times but one or two emails accidently slip out and there it goes again. Not that this has anything to do with what they are, but the Klez.h virus has surpassed SirCam as the most dangerous virus released.

<-- Klez? Is that like a lisp for Macaroni and Klez? -->
