It's a SC1000 and here's the issue. I know I've programmed this in the past but I can't seem to figure out which option I'm forgetting to enable/disable. I'm setting a DEST macro key on the console but when I press it to transfer the call it beeps and won't allow the call to go through. I've tried setting it to go to an abbreviated dial and the actual number with no luck.

Since I've been able to have it work in the past I know it can be done but the other switch i programmed it on has no Internet access and the modem isn't working so I really don't want to make a 4 hour one way trip just to check the programming against this property. Any ideas?

exactly what did you program under the macro key?
did it take the program?
what is part number of the console?

reading your post more carefully I see you are trying to go to an external number.
can you press the macro and does it go to the external number without doing a transfer, this at least proves the macro is programmed properly and if you can then it is a trunk to trunk issue which involves form 3, form 4 and form 30

I selected DEST and then entered the abbreviated dial access code plus the bin number *15901.. I also tried just entering the number 91901674xxxx with no luck. It did take the programming and I can dial either from the console and it works.

Console is 9189-000-301-NA

No I can't press it and have it go to the external number. Is there an option that needs to be enabled for Macro keys to work?

I don't put dest in for dialing abbreviated dial just the number in your case *15901...
can the console can dial *15901... manually?

yes it can. I thought DEST had to be programmed if you were going to use it to transfer a caller.

don't think so, I think that is when transferring within voicemail

Okay, I will try it when I go back on Thursday. Thanks Panda...

I'm pretty confident that I have setup macro keys to transfer to outside numbers directly, not using speedcalls.

Have you tested manual transfer to the same number? The issue may be in the restrictions, not the macro.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

kwb,

I honestly don't remember now if I did do a manual transfer to that number. Will have to try Thursday.

you can use speedcall or program the actual numbers in both work but i find using the speedcall it is easier to change if need be. Just trying the macro key first breaks the trouble down then we know the macro works then trying the transfer manually or using the macro works out to be the same thing, if the call comes in and you press the macro or dial it manually and if it is when you try to connect the two calls you get the beep then you probably need to check form 30 and the cos of the console for tandeming of trunks. When you get the beep it actually says "can't" on the console display if not programmed in form 3 and 30. Good luck thursday.

Okay so now I feel really stupid.... I was thinking of a PRI in form 30 instead of the DS1 circuit. It's amazing how things work when programmed correctly. LOL! :D

Thanks for everyone's assistance.
