What all PORTs or CLI command you need to Auto Renew DHCP Lease

Hi!

We have installed PIX 515 and the outside Interface is configured to obtain real IP address automatically from ISP (IP address outside DHCP setroute). The lease period is 8 days. We have opened 67, 68 and 69 port.

What all Ports and/or commands are required to be opened in access-list on Outside interface to allow renewal of IP address from ISP.

A help would be highly appreciated.

Hi,

You don't need to open any ports or setup access lists to obtain an IP address from your ISP. You already have the command 'ip address outside dhcp setroute'. That is sufficient. When your current lease expires, the pix will automatically obtain a new ip from the ISP.

But last week it did not renewed automatically.

Hi,

If it didn't renew automatically then no access lists or port forwarding is going to to help. Have you got a Smartnet contract ? If so, create a TAC request.
