I am looking at my backupexec admin account and in the local profile on the server in the temp folder there are around 100 folders all named wfvxxx - where xxx is a number. On opening these folders there are zip files, either classes.zip or DX3.zip containing class files which I am informed are java files. These temp folders are taking up 296mb and I am wondering if they can be deleted, are they OFO related?

Any comments, hints or suggestions appreciated

Cheers

Actually you can delete the entire wfv folder. What is happening is that Backup exec is creating them. Something to do with scanning com files for viruses. I am currently looking for a work around so that these are not created. They will keep being created until the drive is filled up.

I too am getting these wfv files, and suspect they are related to the nightly virus scan during the veritas backup process.
I am up to about 125 megs by now and 233 folders over the last five weeks. They are filling up my drive on our file/print server. I have tried to delete these files, but get a sharing violation window. Of course I am unable to delete them.

Does anyone have a tip on deleting these wfv files.

Thank you

You will have to stop the services for Backup exec. Then you can delete them and restart the services.

Funny that, I get them too - but backupexec is not set to scan for viruses on this system Nick

I am getting these wfv directorys too. I keep deleting them but will keep checking back here to see if anyone finds a fix.

If you are already running antivirus on your servers/computers, then you are wasting your time using BE to scan for viruses. Its double effort. Stop the madness!!!!
