Hi there.
I just bought this hard drive and is supposed to be 250 gig large.
My system though recognizes it as 130 gb.
I tried both NTFS and FAT32 without any result.
Is there anything I can do so I get its max capacity?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

More info please:-

1. does the bios recognise it as 250GB? (older boards have a limitation of around 130GB - which if this is problem, would mean you need a bios upgrade - if one is available, or a PCI controller card.

2. If bios is ok, what operating system and service pack level are you using? (XP prior to SP1 and 2k prior to SP3 both had a similar 130GB ish limitation).

Thank for your reply.
I run win2k pro sp4.
I can see the hard drive been recognized as 250gb into the pool data verification screen, but when the windows is loaded it gives me only 130 gig.
I tried to get bios upgrade but didn't find anything possitive.
What do you mean by the controller card?Is it a physical upgrade or a software.
I will go and check your link and find out if 2k has those limitations as well.
Thank you.

Yes - if you look at the 2k link, you see you need to edit the registry to enable 48 bit LBA support. It does sound like its a 2k rather than bios issue - as the drive is obviously being recognised at full size in the bios from your description.
